Hong Kong Pools During the Coronavirus Pandemic

hongkong pools

HK pools are known for their amazing views and top-notch facilities, but some may not be the best option during the coronavirus pandemic. While public and government-run pools are still open, they are crowded and often lack the amenities that hotels offer. Luckily, there are several hotel-based pools in the city that offer an exceptional experience and incredible views. Some of the best hongkong pools even include water slides and a swim-up bar!

One of the most impressive pools in the city is the outdoor pool at the Four Seasons. Located in the heart of the city, this pool offers an infinity pool that overlooks Victoria Harbour and Kowloon. It also has a lap pool, a jacuzzi, and a small plunge pool. The pool terrace is covered by floor-to-ceiling windows that give the entire space a natural, light look. You can lounge around the pool and soak up the view while enjoying a drink at the swim-up bar.

The hotel also has a stunning indoor pool with breathtaking views of the city skyline and Hong Kong Bay. The pool is spacious with a waterfall and hot and cold pools to help you relax. It is an ideal spot for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some relaxation in a more quiet setting.

Another notable pool is the YMCA Bridges Street Centre pool, which was built in 1918. It is a popular pool for locals to hang out during the weekdays and weekends. It has the longest and highest water slides in the city, as well as a variety of leisure pools for those who just want to relax and re-energize themselves. It’s a great place to go if you’re bringing the kids.

While public swimming pools are open, some are closed for various reasons during the crisis, including a shortage of lifeguards. Some have also been told to close lanes or facilities reserved for swim lessons, sparking concerns that classes will be cancelled altogether. A representative from the Hong Kong Recreation and Sports Professionals General Union warned that closing these facilities will affect swimming instruction, which is already hard to find in the city.

The resort is located on the sixth floor of the International Commerce Centre and is surrounded by glass. The pool itself is stunning, with bottom-to-ceiling windows and 144 LED screens that make it feel like you are underwater with beautiful coral reefs. It is a spectacular sight, especially at night when the lights reflect on the waters.

The pool at the deluxe Mandarin Oriental is perhaps one of the most unique in the world. It is shaped like a swan and has two wings connected by a bridge. It has a shallow end for little ones, while the upper level is reserved for adults. The water here is a bit warmer than other pools in the city, but it is still a relaxing and refreshing place to spend the day.
